Army @ The Fringe
Edinburgh Fringe Festival & Online | Producer | 2019-2021
About
Army @ The Fringe is a project run by the British Army, opening the doors to a real life reserve centre for a programme of diverse work exploring life in and out of uniform.
I joined the team in 2019 as producer of the project, working in collaboration with companies, the Army, Scottish Festivals PR and other affiliated organisations. I had responsibility for the creative logistics of the project, communication with artists, management of the freelance team and various other aspects including the development of the programme for future years.
In 2020, I had responsibility for programming, rebranding our marketing collateral and generally maintaining the project in collaboration with team members from the British Army. Due to COVID-19 and the subsequent cancellation of the Edinburgh Festivals, we shifted our focus to create a virtual festival of over 40 workshops, performances, conversations, readings and screenings. Army @ The Virtual Fringe ran from 10th - 27th August, catch up via the link below.
In 2021, despite continuing uncertainty caused by COVID-19 we delivered a successful in person festival offering with a programme of 8 shows and events. Responsible for all aspects of programming, budget management, recruiting and leading a team of freelancers, COVID-mitigation planning, licensing and other aspects, I am very proud of what we achieved.
In 2022, I stepped back from being Army @ The Fringe’s producer to pursue other freelance projects and for personal reasons.
